Following primary and secondary education, Hermit pursued automotive engineering at tertiary level and worked in that field from 1994-2000. After that he did procurement and management from 2000 till 2007.During that time, acquiring a secure form of employment was the common practice. However , He always felt a void and was never satisfied with the above mentioned career paths.
In 2008, Hermit threw all caution to the wind, he took a bold step, he gave up his secure job to pursue his first love , art. Since then, he went into art full-time.He started showcasing his work in 2009 , he took part in several group exhibitions and hosted 3 solo exhibitions in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Over the years, his popularity has grown with art being sold within Zimbabwe, the African region and extending to Europe.
His love for people, their expressions, traditions, cultures and nature all inspire his work.He is drawn to auras of happiness, peace and light which he expresses through his artwork to aid in connecting with his audience not only visually but also on an emotional level. Hermit does realism with a touch of creative exploration. His media of choice are pencil,charcoal,pastel chalk and oil paints.
Hermit is currently working from his studio, The Creative Hub In Borrowdale , Harare. He also conducts art lessons from The Creative Hub which he absolutely enjoys.
